Bill is the ‘last Rookwood artist.’ See link on Home Page.Connecting the dots: Rookwood was founded by Maria Longworth Nichols in 1880. Maria’s grandfather Longworth was the sole financial backer of Abraham Lincoln’s candidacy for President. Ironically, President Obama, a Democrat has recently been absorbed in Lincoln history and lore. Like Lincoln, Obama leads a country divided along strong ideological lines which can never be reconciled to ‘form a perfect union.’ Obama World symbolizes this dilemma.
