NOTE: How strangely the world is interconnected. Bill’s story is interesting in this respect. You may have seen Rookwood Pottery on the Antique Road Show. Bill is the ‘last Rookwood artist.’ See link on Home Page.Connecting the dots: Rookwood was founded by Maria Longworth Nichols in 1880. Maria’s grandfather Longworth was the sole financial backer of Abraham Lincoln’s candidacy for President. Ironically, President Obama, a Democrat has recently been absorbed in Lincoln history and lore. Like Lincoln, Obama leads a country divided along strong ideological lines which can never be reconciled to ‘form a perfect union.’ Obama World symbolizes this dilemma.
